The licensed block “Southeast Black Sea Area” (1262 sq. km) is located in the Russian sector of the Black Sea at the traverse of the Tuapse port.
Water depth: 1600–2150 m.
Ports: operating ones — Tuapse, Novorossisk; port under construction – Taman.
Climate: warm wet winter and hot summer.
Ambient temperature: mean annual +10–12°C; maximum +25–27°C; minimum -4–5°C.
Winds: north-eastern are dominant with average monthly velocity in winter 6–7 m/s, in summer 3–4 m/s; generation of strong (above 10 m/s) and storm winds is caused by cyclones.
Waves: maximum in the open sea higher than 11 meters.
Water temperature: maximum +25°C; minimum +8°C.
Ice: water area of the Block is free from ice all year round.
Navigation: all year round.
CJSC “Chernomorneftegaz” is a member of a group of companies-owner of the port Tuapse having wide-range fleet auxiliary (supply vessels, rescue and salvage ships, fire-fighting vessels, oil garbage disposal vessels etc.).
Port Tuapse is the base port for development of oil-and-gas resources of the licensed block.
