Oil-and-gas promising structures in Tuapsinskiy trough and in northern slope of Schatskiy ridge were discovered in 2000 as the result of 2D seismic regional survey.
In 2003 within the South-East Black Sea Area 1440 line-kms of detailed 2D seismic exploration were carried out. Structures Pallas and Muratova were mapped as the result of the survey.
Report and Registration Certificate for structures Pallas and Muratova with four recommended points of prospecting and appraisal well drilling were worked out according to the results of the seismic exploration.
In 2007 LLC “Schlumberger Vostok” carried out 1636 sq. km of 3D marine seismic survey for improvement of high priority prospecting and appraisal well drilling target.
In IV quarter of 2007 800 line-km of gravity-magnetic survey was carried out alongside with the 3D seismics under the license agreement.
The work objective is updates of material composition of the sedimentary complex.
In 2007 geological service of CJSC “Chernomorneftegaz” carried out basin model investigations of Russian sector of the Black Sea including the North-West Black Sea Area.
Processing and interpretation of the 3D seismic data are to be finished in 2008.
Carrying out of 3D seismics including the 3D data processing and interpretation will allow to improve geometry of the existing geological objects particularly faults, to get proved 3D velocity model as well as positional relation of seismic attributes and significantly reduce geological risks.
